A reminder for anyone who’s hard at work on something you care deeply about: Dreams don’t materialize if you don’t make them happen. I believe everything happens for a reason – and in that same vein, people who work hard always get what they deserve. Every time fear or tiredness or frustration knocks you down and you get back up, you become stronger – and take one more step toward your goal.
Do werk.
Passionately. Feverishly. Unapologetically. Because no one’s going to do it for you.

Did you know that the wedding ring goes on the left ring finger because it’s the only one with a vein that connects directly to the heart? Science meets romance. Loves it.
Also – on a slightly more shallow level, just in case you haven’t heard about the brilliantness that is makeshift measurement lines on a Solo cup … You can measure a 1-ounce portion of liquor, a 5-ounce serving of wine, and a 12-ounce serving of beer using the ridges built right into these babies. I’m not so much into drinking liquor or wine in plastic, but it’s still a super-fun fact!

DIY popsicles: Ice pops you make at home, with your own favorite flavors – preferably with booze. What’s not to love?
Mark Bittman’s got 12 easy versions right here: 3 each fruity, savory, creamy, boozy (I’m digging all 3 fruity variations and the mojito, naturally). Iced coffee pops. Boozy frozen peach pops. I’m pretty sure I have no choice but to make these ice pops made with my favorite white wine, Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Frozen fruit pops with beautiful chunks of fruit you can actually see. A tie-dye patriotic version for the 4th of July. Margarita ice pops. White sangria popsicles. Blackberry mojito ice pops might be my favorite idea yet. And these watermelon ice pops are to adorable for words.
I guess I should start by buying a mold.

The top knot. I absolutely adored it on Julianne Hough when she wore it to a recent premiere – along with that perfect neon dress. I like that her version was more of a combo move between messy and knobby. Here’s a good tutorial for the messier version, which seems a bit more wearable.

You guys might recall me saying that I’m not very crafty – that is, if you made it until the end of my biscotti video and saw the little housewarming gift I put together. There are certain times, however, when I’ve gotta pull it together and make something cute happen. This weekend, for instance … I’m helping to host a baby shower for one of my best friends, and I’m going to be creating a little candy bar so that guests can take home a bag of treats for party favors. I’m also going to try and swing one of those ribbon-covered lollipop stands, so wish me luck! Poor little Daniel will be playing videographer/victim again this weekend so that you can see how it all works out – don’t you just love him?
In the meantime, I’ve created this new board on Pinterest featuring lots of way-too-fabulous ideas for dessert tables, food bars, and more. If you’re shy about baking or cooking for a party, setting up candy bars and such is the perfect idea because all you have to do is buy the candy! Or in this case, fun toppings for a patriotic ice cream bar for the 4th of July. Just sayin’!

Boozy popsicles…. love ‘em! I think they’ll be the perfect addition to this beautiful California weekend.
Just read this post. I love when science meets romance, like when you have chemistry with a hot man over prickly pear margaritas…Yum!!! I love you and your posts!! Xo
